UDWR Bear Lake Fishing Report:

Bear Lake nearly full and boat launching is possible at all ramps on the Utah side of the lake. This includes the Bear Lake State Park marina, 1st Point, Cisco Beach and Rainbow Cove boat ramps. Water temperature is in the mid 50’s.

Anglers have been doing fair to good for Cutthroat Trout trolling minnow type lures in 30-60’ of water from the Marina north into Idaho at Fish Haven Creek. They are also picking up a few Lake Trout with the same method. You can use downriggers to get deeper than 30’, but anlgers are using deep-diving lure to get down to the 30’ depth. You might also consider jigging with tube jigs tipped with Cisco or Sucker meat off of 2nd Point and the mouth of North Eden Canyon

Remember the Trout limit is two fish. Cutthroat Trout with a fin clip may be kept; Cutthroat Trout with all fins intact must be immediately released. Large Lake Trout take a long time to reach large sizes, and while they are legal to keep, many anglers are encouraging other anglers to release them.

Garden City Community Fishery Pond
The pond has stocked with brood Cutthroat Trout just before Memorial Day and then stocked with 1,000, catchable sized sterile Rainbow Trout on June 6th. Fishing should be excellent for Rainbow Trout using flies, small jigs, or just a worm under a bobber. You can also try powerbait and marshmallows for bait too.

Laketown Reservoir
Laketown Reservoir has also been stocked with Rainbow Trout and a few brood stock Cutthroat trout. Fishing with bait, small spinners, or flys behind a bubble are working the best. Remember, please pack out all trash at this reservoir since there are no receptacles available..

Little Creek (Randolph) Reservoir
The water level is high and spilling at the spillway. Fishing has been fair to excellent for Rainbow Trout. Anglers were having good luck using wooly buggers behind a bubble and still fishing with worms and powerbait.
