Electric Lake and lakes around it
#1
Hello, I have never fished Electric Lake but am heading down there this weekend with the family to camp by the north end of the reservoir. I have heard that minnows and worms are good for the tigers. We will be fishing off shore. What general size of fish does electric lake contain? I also saw on Google Earth that there are a few lakes within 25 mins of where we will be camping (cleveland, huntington, boulger, etc.) are any of those good fishing? Do they have decent sized fish?

We tried Schofield last weekend in the boat (haven't been there since it went to hell 8 or 9 years ago) and just caught a bunch of little 9-10 inch rainbows and cutts. That fishery definitely isn't what it used to be. It used to be my favorite place to go and you were basically guaranteed to catch 17-20" fish every time you went. So now we are looking for new places and scenery.

All of the lakes you mentioned and several others can be great fishing. The nice part about it is that if one isn't working out you can try one or two other places. You should be able to catch cutts and tiger trout up to about 23 inches at Electric Lake. The same for most of the other lakes, except the really small reservoirs typically have lots of smaller rainbows.

All the lakes in the area can fish well. Gooseberry, benches , boulger, Cleveland , millers flat, huntington, potters ponds. For chances at bigger fish , I would stick with Huntington, Cleveland , and electric

Millers Flat can be really fast fishing if you time it right, don;t know how well it will be this year but I went two years ago and had nonstop action

They just stocked it with 12,500 5" rainbows , So whole Millers flat should be fast fishing , You'll have to plow through a lot of small ones to find a decent fish.

What has proven successful at any of these lakes? Power bait, spinners, worms, WD-40 (kidding)?
