That healed wound to its upper jaw is still a horrible testament to those who improperly handle these awesome treasures, Please study the correct way to handle these guys and cut the hooks instead of ripping half of their face off to get your lure back. get a quick picture and make sure the fish is strong enough to release, it will tell you when it is ready and will swim away on its own power, Sorry about the rant, but it sucks driving around the lake and seeing the monster Muskies lying dead because of mishandling.

Could be a previous hooking injury as you mentioned, but there's also a number of fish in there with snub noses, although this guy would be one of the worst that I've seen. Fred K.

I'd put money on somebody catching that fish before with a lure that had waaaay to small of hooks on it and it turned into chaos and jacked up his mouth.
