Got Multi Day, Long Range Sportfishing Boats?
#1

Hi there guys,

Just got to wondering if other areas are blessed like we are here in southern California with our multi day, long range sportfishing open-party or charter boats.

Does your state have such operations? To head off some of you, states geographically similar to Kansas, North Dakota, etc. need not reply!

Our San Diego, CA fleet have boats going nearly year-round to all of Baja, much of Mexico, and even Panama!

The multi day LR trips I'm tlaking about last from 5 to 21 days.

I'm especially interested in the Gulf of Mexico-Central America connection, if there is any.

JapanRon,

About the longest trip that you will find along the Gulf Coast is a three day. We don't have to go as far as the so. Calf boys but we don't have "walk-on" style boats for the Tuna fishery in the North Eastern Gulf either. We can fish a lot of the offshore oil Rigs and usually do what we need. Most of the charters are Private for up to about 10 people or so. Usually buddies or Companies..etc. To my knowledge the is no boats that will make the Central American voyage here. Good Luck!

Hi there Intimidator,

Thanks for the info. I did some searches and found nothing so I decided to try to hook up with an knowledgable guy like yourself.

I am sure you do manage to get all the top-quality fishing that can be handled with the system you have now. I almost think this bigger and bigger boat thing is just as much ego as anything. The Qualifier 105 (100+ foot), Triline Big Game, and new Independence (112 foot) and others are monsters. Great, no doubt, but monsters still. We have long range trips to Panama if you can believe that!!

Oh ya, if anyone is interested in seeing how these boats are being built, they can be seen on http://www.independencesportfishing.com and http://www.fishintrepid.com. I have no affiliation with these boats.

Thanks for the info!

Hey there Intimidator, Hi and welcome to the BFT message boards. I'm looking forward to seeing some fishing reports from your area. I used to do alot of work out there in LA (Lower Alabama) although I was never there long enough to get a line wet. It's always good to see new members from parts where I've been to.
