Flaming Gorge record revoked since license was expired

This man caught the state record out of Flaming Gorge but the DWR revoked the record after they discovered his license had expired days before he caught it. Tough break but rules are rules. Glad to see this monster went back into the water to live out some more days.

Was this Captain Jim Williams' boat? His boat has a 115 motor like the one in the picture and he has his guests hold the fish this same way for the safety of the fish. I think he's the best guide around at FG.

Yup. That's still a story to tell. Well, until you get the guy that doesn't believe a big fish story. That's when you break out the pictures!

Rules are rules.
I set a reminder on my phone so that I don't do the same thing. I really wish the DWR would update their system to allow a person to extend their license several month before it expires. Now, If I buy a new license two months before my current one expires the expiration date is 12 months from the new purchase, Not 12 months from when my current license expires.

Some states they are only good until Dec, 31st. No matter when you bought it.
That really is a rip.
