Starvy 8/18
#1
Another trip in the books, wind was constant all day. Made for hard line control for my preferred ultralite jigging methods. Fish were harder to come by than last week. We kept having to move to find fish. Smallies were real active, they were easy to find, no size to report. Caught 16 walleyes in twice the time as last week, and one steelie. Gonna have some great tacos this evening.

Thanks for your report SS. I'll be going up there for a few days of fishing in September. Did you catch any eyes of any good size this trip? I'll settle for a bunch of small ones but it would be nice to boat at least one over 18. But as TD says, tugs is tugs.

Mostly thinning the small side of the herd. One probably pushed 17' but the rest fit just right in the pan.

Hoping to slip up there this friday.
Any other tips on the eyes you care to share?
Thanks.

I thought I knew Starvy better but she showed me who the boss is.
I fished on my own from 7:30-3:30 and in all that time only caught 7 eyes, none over 12", and 4 or 5 smallies.
I even downrigger for 1.5 hrs for kokes with nary a bite.
It was a beautiful day of boating, just not so good for catching.
Thank you for the tips.
