Lincoln update

Fished Lincoln today for the first time in the past couple of weeks. Arrived at about 7:30 and fished until about 1:00. Air temp when I arrived was KOLD, water temp was 55 and warmed to 57-8 when I left. The camp hosts have left and the skeeters left with them. No midges or surface slurpers observed in the channel. Channel is a little over two feet deep all the way out -- no trouble launching. Two other boats arrived later in the morning -- one to the island and the other off toward Goshen Bay. Water was calm most of the day.

Fishing was slow but good. Caught a couple at the island but it was a little windy there so headed back to Benjamin Slough and anchored up in about 3 feet of water. Caught several cats there and then decided to drag bait. Headed toward the orchards and started back to the east. Best cattin' was in deep water about a quarter mile out from the shore. White bass seemed to be the best bait but also caught a few on cut chubs and carplettes. All fish were fat and sassy and appeared to have been eating well. Best cat was a 28 incher that weighed 10.14 pounds.

TD's fall feeding frenzy is soon upon us. Nice to fish without all the bugs. Plan to be back as weather permits.

Good to hear, glade we can still launch this fall, the water temps are lower than I would have thought, hopefully they stay about that temp till spring[] any good warm day those fish should be biting good.

Thanks for the report! I'm glad you found some good fish. I haven't even looked at the forum for a couple of weeks. We just finished moving[]

I hope to get out for the fall festivities in the next week. I hope to see at least one 10 this year. Thanks for giving me hope!
