Hit pineview this morning from 9:30am to noon with to of my friends (newbies). The bite is still very soft right know and tuff fishing. We put 29 crappie 3 small mouth and 1 bluegill in the boat (20 for me 9 for the newbies). The size of crappie are pleasing this year. Everything we caught was drop shoted and using gulp.

Sounds like you did everything right and taking newbies along too, all makes for good karma. When we went earlier in week, the crappie all had lockjaw - but we could catch as many small bluegills as we wanted and even a few small bass - so good to hear the crappie may be finally turning on.... what size were your bass?

Two smallmouth were 10in and one was 13in. I hope the crappies turn on this year, I like to take kids and newbies and watch them catch fish because it's easy for them.
