Echo Perch On Ice
#1
Yes, the edges did re-freeze solid at Echo last week after that nice cold spell....took advantage of it last Friday: 28 very nice perch, 8 to 91/2" and 3 good trout....then Monday: 5 perch and just 1 trout (ice still good)....then Wednesday (Yesterday) just 4 perch and 0 trout....and the ice edges were deteriorating while we were there, and we needed my 6' plank getting off....Today warm winds - based on what I saw yesterday, you'd need a 20' plank anywhere around the boat ramp, and the good ice we had (5 to 6") will be softening up beyond the edges also....be cautious....soft deck is just around the bend....Guluk...

Thanks for the info. I wish I went there instead of the Gorge last weekend.

What a crazy year. That's too bad it's going away again already. I had a few good days up there early in the season and was hoping to hit it again in a few weeks. Thanks for the great update. Nothing worse than the disappointment of finding bad edges after a long drive.
