I read a report from a week or two back but I was thinking about hitting it soon and was wondering if anyone was having any luck with the kokes there. PM's are welcome as well.

I plan on hitting it Friday. It still had a good bit of ice the last time I was there which was early February.

I used to fish for kokes up there a lot and I'd always go around this time of year (runoff), but would never do very good until the lake flipped over. Early season the water would be very murky and lots of debris would be in the water making vis low. Sometime in Apr/May it would clear up almost over night and be game on. Still worth trying, I just never had much luck for kokanee until that happened. Maybe pre runoff is good too though.

I'd be interested in the condition of the roads and the "ramp" areas. I have a little boat I'd like to get on there ASAP

I would think that the road and ramp should be in pretty good condition. They were good six weeks ago. It will be interesting to see if there is enough of a snowpack to cause runoff conditions.
Whether the kokes are biting or not it’s always good to get out on the water. Some photos from last trip. [signature]

Maybe I'll wait for your report then, the last time I fished it this early in the year I was dodging logs and tree branches. I'll look forward to reading what it looks like up there.

I agree with what you are saying, seems to me it isn't that good for kokes until the water temp get up to about 50 degrees, at least when it comes to trolling, might be able to catch some jigging though. Dodging the debris isn't too fun, as you said.

I was up yesterday on the so side of the res. Lots of floating logs it's at full pool water pretty dirty the big storms must have been mainly rain could tell we had a lot of moisture running down the roads a few sheets of thin ice floating towards the head of the dam.

Now that was exactly what I wanted to read. I figured it might be too early but without any first hand info, I wasn't sure. Guess I'll hold off on getting up there until some time next month. Thanks for the info.
