I have a few days to fish this weekend and am trying to get in one more ice trip to Strawberry saturday morning.
Would love to access the ice cap by snowmobile at Strawberry Bay Marina.
Anyone have any Intel they care to share?
Thank you.

Shane, Hey Matt has been watching the temps up there really close until yesterday and it's been very cold over night most days, so I expect it will still be passible, but last we heard the pressure ridges had opened up in places and a thin sheet of ice froze over the open water, then it got snowed on... So be very careful around the pressure ridges they may have booby traps around them... Last we heard the top 4-5" of ice were getting cloudy and not the best and some slush in the warmer parts of the day... Bottom 6-8" of ice was still black and strong... So no recent personal intel, but have been keeping an eye on reports... Later Jeff

Probably don’t want the liability of telling you it’s good and having you find a bad spot. Good luck if you try it. Be careful those spring areas will likely be thin too. Later J

I was there a couple days ago and conditions were fine. About 18 inches of solid ice and edges were solid. Roads also were clear.

We went to strawberry bay on 3/31. No snow in parking lot or on boat ramp. We drove down the ramp and unloaded gear. 23 degrees when we got there, 50 degrees when we left at 1:00. Ice was 12" to 15" everywhere we went. Top 4" was frozen white slush, bottom 9" to 11" was solid clear ice. A few people had 4 wheelers on the ice, only one snowmobile seen. We caught 10 fish between two of us. Edges were still good, but looked like they are deteriorating. Watch out for springs and pressure ridges!

I drove by yesterday and the ice has pulled back from the bank in most spots. If you had a long plank it might be possible to get on. I'd say it's over though. Some of the shallow bays were melted.
