Took the boat out with a friend this morning to Utah Lake, hoping to get into a few 10 lb walleye ???? First of all Utah lake and I have a hate...hate relationship most of the time. I’d really like that to change, but today wasn’t: the day. Got there (Lincoln beach) at 6:00. Lake was 47 degrees, calm. We jumped around from 8 ft deep to 3ft. After only a few hits, getting discouraged and nothing in the boat we headed to the Island. 2 other boats were there, and it looked like one of those were looking for catfish. We threw all of the Utah Lake secret weapons we had... 10 different color Grubs, the same number of square bills, Rapalas, even tried a drop shot set up, and nothing. By the time we were ready to leave, a few had waded out and one other fisherman was on a float tube, and saw nothing caught between them or anyone else at the island either. Left at about 10:30. I know that 47 isn’t the magic temperature, but we were hoping otherwise. I wanted to take some pictures, but lost my phone and nothing much to show you haven’t already seen. Anyway.... I’d wait another week and hope for a few warm days before spending too much time on Big green Pond.
