Willard Wander Wasted

Loaded up my kayak and headed to North Marina this morning to look for some crappie and check the boat out after the winter layover. It was cloudy but pleasant in Ogden, not so much at Willard. North winds gusty enough to make whitecaps - in the parking lot asphalt. The water was ugly, too. I was the only car there and no way was I going to launch in those winds with no help around. Made two casts from the ramp just to check out a new rod and drove back home.

Might try again tomorrow, even though I loathe fishing on weekends.

Oh you did sort of try to fish while you were there. Sorry the weather wasn't more cooperative. Won't be long and it will get better. Thanks for the report. J

I would have zipped up to Mantua, see if it was as windy, or tried a sheltered cove on pineview. I agree with not launching on Willard in bad conditions, alone...smart move there.
