<br /> Hit the Chick for a few hours last evening as my better half had to attend her school promotion. Put in a the Dam due to traffic at the bridge and headed upriver. Initally headed to a slough with a sloping bank the normally is used as a transition area during the spawn. Figured I was a little late but what the heck. On the second cast my line took off and set the hook, only to have the fish come loose at the boat. Targeting shade, I pitched into a small target and boated our first solid fish at 3 pounds. Caught one more small fish on the bank before moving to the mouth of the slough. There we found 5 fish, including 3 more keeper fish, including another 3 pounder and two weighing right at 2.25. Moved to the final stop of the day and found some small pockets of grass that were holding fish. Following two other boats, we caught 6-7 fish out of the grass, including 3 over 2 pounds, throwing a creature bait, stickbait, and worm. Finally at 8:20 it was time to go home. Fish depth varied from 2 feet to 12. All fish caught on creature baits, Stickbaits, and Worms.
