Caught a cold on the Cottonood.

I went down there this afternoon and nota. I had one nice big brown roll in a deep hole, but that was it. I could have snagged a state record sucker, though. Must have been 10 pounds, and wouldn't eat me salmon eggs. Oh well! Wasn't really trying hard anyway.[Wink]

I got out there bright and early again this morning, this time with Saunda. She killed me! She got 5 browns on minnows, the largest was around 22". I got 3 browns on blue fox's, my largest was 18". Also broke off that huge sucker. He bit some bread on a treble.

I can't wait for spring. I really hate winter, especially this year. Atleast the arm feels better. And I've always got the catfishing latter in spring to look forward to.

I think the winter dulldrums are upon us. I'm looking forward to Spring also and some fishing at my favorite places.

I haven't been over there in a while. How is the work on the dam going? They are planting Cottonwood with Muskies when the work is complete. I'll be right next to there in about an hour. I take care of the computers in the State/Ute foster care office there next to Bullock. I've been thinking about throwing in my gear and spending my lunch hour over there. I guess the Muskie in Bullock are aobut 21-22" now. That would have to be some fun through the ice! Sounds like I need to check out the Browns and Suckers at Cottonwood too.

I'll be fishing a private section of the Duchesne River over the next few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes and if the fishing is hot, see if I can talk the owners into letting me bring a friend. I don't mind fishing alone, but I prefer someone there to share the fun with.

Right around 500 west. There are some really good holes between the freeway and the jordan, and best of all their all easy to fish. The one by the freeway is the best. I've caught many-a big brown and rainbow right there.

Just one word of caution- the mud REALLY stinks, and I'm not sure if the fish in that area are the best for the table.

In between 39th and 45th. There are auto body shops to the east and an industrial park to the west. Best access is in the auto body shops. Right under 500 W. there is also a really good hole that has produced for me before.

Were you using a flyrod?

I was using a spinning rod and lures. Fly fishing never really has come to me that well, unless I use worms with it instead of flies.
