Haven't been out this summer as much as I normally am...the heat has just been too much! We did manage to slip out last Saturday early around 0600. We hadn't been out for several weeks, so we just planned on covering some water and trying to find some active fish. We ended up targeting the usual 35-40' range for this time of year, but we could only manage a couple fish in each of our honey holes. Just couldn't find very active fish. Size wasn't very impressive either...biggest around 3lbs. On a good note, the fish all looked fat and sassy! We bounced SBs and NRs, with no real noticeable preference that day. Ended up with 15 fish between the two of us, and were off the water by 0830 (as the power squadron was starting to descend upon the lake). Water temps were in the mid 80s. Can't wait for Fall and some cooler temps to get them going again!
