Im guessing everyone on here is pretty ice savvy. But the two fellows we pulled out of the water had some room for improvement.
We went out from the south dike, the fishing was ok. 3 of us managed about 25 fish in just a few hours. Mostly trout and perch.
We were getting ready to pack it up and 2 guys were headed out around us by about 70 yds when the first one fell in up to his waist, followed but the second going all the way through. We could see right a way they were going to need some help. My brother grab the rope and headed over doing his best to act fast but also avoid going in himself. He was able to get the rope to the guy, but it was so slick it took four of us to get enough traction to get him out of the water. Not a fun experience.
There were few other groups that came running over to help them and to get them warmed up with tents and heaters.
It's good to see good folks
Stay safe
