Flaming Gorge Ice Update
#1
Does anyone have an ice update for the confluence and south of the confluence? Any updates will be greatly appreciated.

I fished just south of the confluence Saturday. The ice was a scant 3 inches thick. The fishing was slow. I fished until around 8 pm.

We fished the Confluence on New Year's Day and the ice was variable, 4-inches on the new sheet, and 10-inches on the old sheet. We found the lake trout bite to be best in 55-58 feet of water the last couple of hours of the day. We didn't fish the morning being it was -20F, but morning would likely be good as well. We were using 3.5-inch Dry Creek Outfitters tubes in white w/ black/gold flake tipped with sucker meat. Most of the fish were near the bottom, but we caught a few small lakers and a bow 10-20 ft under the ice as well.

Good luck! Ryno
