Got to echo around 11am, just out from the marina in about 20 feet of water. Gave it 45 minutes with no action (not even perch), moved around until about 12:30 in 32 feet of water and couldn't keep the perch off. I used whatta crickets (white and green) tipped with a waxie. Finally I got tired and left around 3pm. I was trying to get some trout , but to no avail. It's Lost Creek tomorrow!

Great report. How thick was the ice? I've been fishing the Rock all season, been catching lots of perch. They average anyware from 7"-10" any size to the ones at echo? Was there a lot of people?
Thanks

ice is probably 14-16 inches thick insane4thegame. the perch are about the same size 7-10"; however, the biggest I caught was about 8", as for the crowd-what crowd? there never seems to be anyone at echo when I am there. I think I saw 5 people in a 400 yard radius where I was-on the weekends when I fish it there may be a few more but not too many.

Fished Echo today. Not sure where I was at because I'd never been there bofore. But limited out with my fishing buddy in 4 hours kept nothing smaller than 10 inches. Bag of fish weighed about 15 lbs. Took 2 of us over an hour to fillet them all. Cooked them up and make fish tacos. It was enough to feed 5 or 6 people.
Hooked to a really big fish and my eagle claw ice pole was doubled in half. It was the first time ever with this pole I was giving out line and I had the drag set hard. I could tell it was a moster because you could feel the head trying to shake off the hook. After about 5 minutes the 6 lb line I have on the reel snapped. What a thrill and a disappointment. It was a great day on the ice, warm enough to shed our jackets and get a really nice tan!

For everyones info the edges around the lake you need to be careful with I stepped into 12" of slush first thing in the morning, but there was just about 3 feet of soft stuff after that ther was 18" of good ice on the lake.

Thanks,
Sounds like my kinda place. I've always hated crowds(with a passion). Really do appreciate all the info, I'll give it a try. If you ever see kinda of a big dude out there sitting on a black metal bar stool its probably me, come over and we'll B.S. a while.
