Sounds like a fun contest. Anyone with a livewell or other means of keeping fish healthy for subsequent release may want to bring fish to port so the rest of us can see them.

Sorry Craig. Once a game fish is placed in a live well it cannot be legally released.

As you may have read elsewhere, I have just gone over the entire Fishing Guidebook. On page 19 near the bottom of the first column it states:

"A trout, salmon or grayling may not be released it it's been held on a stringer or in a fish basket, livewell or any other type of device."

I couldn't find where any other species was included under that rule. I used to get upset when I heard about or saw people releasing their catfish after they reached harbor but now it looks like it is legal. If you can find where it says otherwise I would be happy to stand corrected. I'm just trying to stay legal and I often have to refer back to the Guidebook to see if I have it right.

You are correct Craig. Guess they only want to protect whimpy fish.

So do they have an AP for notary stamping? I’ll be checking into that. If not I may have an open seat for a notary. Sorry Greg might lose your seat due to the rules. Later J

WOW Lynn, looks to me like the south is really trying to stack the deck this Saturday............[sly]. But that's OK, since last year my biggest contest Cat was out of UL, and I haven't caught any this year so far, so I just might swipe your 36 incher from wherever you are keeping it penned up while you feed it dog food and fresh WB [cool].
But I will get a good photo of it with my BFT Contest placard so I can not only win the fish of the day, but get it on my contest board. [fishin]

Looking forward to the day, and seeing y'all again. Good luck, tight lines, be safe.

[#008000]Well Forest that's how you spell fear, the south is scared about the northern boys showing them how to catch fish in their own back yard... so they're trying to even things up with that set of rules... I think they were going to limit us to size 12 hooks too... but I think they forgot... Later Wink Wink... J[/#008000]

Didn't we discuss having the Yankees surrender their placards while out fishing?

Hey Lynn we are sure looking forward to it... I'm hoping to get in on the white bass action as much as anything, that sounds so fun, but I guess you want what you don't have... Guess I'll have to bring the whitie rigs and the cat rigs... hope I can find something to bite for me...

Did you see Ben's comments about bringing the radios? I think that would be a good way for you to keep track of the fish as they are caught for the contest... Radio in will give you a time of the catch in case of the tie... plus it lets all know where the fish are biting... Thanks for putting this fun contest together it adds to the fun of the get together.. Later Jeff

Lynn, yea, yea, I saw rule #4. I wasn't meaning any other species of fish. But I'll keep any Carp I get also. Maybe they will work up on the Bear. [laugh]

Rocky, did I miss sumpthin? Thought you were doing an overnight at the Days Inn at exit 260.

Lynn, I really appreciate your offer to show us where your really good cattin' is. Now that's downright neighborly of ya'll [Wink]
