Boats for flotilla
#1
I'd like to get a count of boats coming to the flotilla. If anyone has a spot available in your boat could you please post that, too? Same for anyone looking for a spot.

There is no official starting time for the fishing. You may want to stagger your arrivals at the ramp so we don't have 16 boats waiting in line or trying to use the three berths we have at the dock all at once. I know that some of you will want to get out early, so that will help.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

I'm trying to get my boat resurrected from last winters damage from the Bear Lake trips, and if I'm successful, I'll have it there, but I do have two others lined up to ride with me. (Biggriggs and his son) If not I'll be tooning it... However, if there is a notary available I may have room... Later J

My son and I would love to join someone on a boat if anyone has space to spare. Otherwise we'll be canoeing.

Edit: We've been offered a spot

I will have my boat. No empty seats. My better half is fishing with me. On another note bring your walker talkies. It is fun to keep up with each other. Don’t be surprised if there is a little friendly Smack talk goin on.

Ben that’s a great point about the radios. I had forgotten to remind everyone. I think Pat likes channel 2 or 5. Hopefully he will chime in. Radio call in to Lynn to report your fish catch and get a time stamp on it. Thanks Jeff

[#0000FF]Lynn and I usually keep in touch on channel 5...as long as there is not a lot of cross talk from truckers on the freeway. They can transmit that far even if we can't reach them back. If it gets too bad we go to channel 8. And if Lynn gets tired of my lame jokes he just turns off his unit...or brings it out with bad batteries.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]Almost anytime I will be tubing with one or two other folks I like to have the walkie talkies. It is a good way to trade info and talk smack. Also a good idea if someone has a problem and needs help.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]Just don't try to chat me up while I am fighting a fish or trying to handle a big fresh one that crawled into my tube with me. Guess where my priorities are with that scenario.

I'll be bringing a boat. I can take along a new friend, however I'll have my young son with me so I can't guarantee how much fishing will be done between snack breaks and potty runs.

Yes those FRS radio walkie talkies work great on the water, no trees between to goof up signals... I have a radio that does both marine and FRS, and I always use the FRS, its better to catch others on that frequency range... Ok 5 and 8 are channels I guess to find us... See ya then... Got my throttle cable fixed on the trolling motor, except for one slight problem... Was supposed to be around 18" long, and it came at 5' or more... But I used it anyway so I'll be able to be there... end fittings were all correct, so it worked... Hate it when they screw up on what you order...Later Jeff

Okay, we won't hold your place in the parade [Wink].

Wish your daughter luck. Been there, done that, and I know how much hard work and long-term commitment that takes. You must be proud.

Potty runs? Better stay close to the marina at LB if you hope to use a real toilet. I carry a camping type bucket potty just in case. Bird Island is a long 2 miles when you really NEED to go [Sad]

Hey, Jeff, should I stay somewhere close in case you need a tow. I remember someone had to tow CoyoteSpinner most of the way down the river on the first flotilla I was at. [Wink]
