Hit starvy over memorial weekend with my brother and family , met Dwayneb, I know he drugg cranks all over the lake, only managed a couple, it was tough fishing for eyes, managed 1 to 4 each day, tried about every bottom bouncer I had, caught them on a jig with worm, chartreuse.

Every fish kept was full of green bugs, needed my fly box, targeted smallys one night after the rain, managed 11 a couple 17 inchers.

Trout where easy trolling a small rapala or cast and real, trout are about 14 inches, next year they should be back to the starvy steely size,

They cut road and camp spots up in rabbit, new toilets , pavilions, can take any size vehicle out there now and generators. they ruined it for us, cant use the dirt ramp at the end unless you can carry your boat down, we launched just past the garbage cans.

Water temp was 50 deg on Friday warmed to 55 Monday,

Thank you for reporting. I think you said you can not launch at rabbit gulch?? So that means no launching for my 16 foot aluminum, that could be bad.
Are they creating another reservation only area.[mad]
How big were the walleyes? Two years a go, I caught lots at 12 inch, I'm hoping they will be grown up some. The best bait then was jigging plastic and a half a might crawler.
I would think the water is up and launching would be easy, but that would change if they have removed the old road bed. Do you have any pictures? Thanks.

Ya you can still launch at the normal place next to the old road, just past the garbage cans, thats where we launched, there was a ramp at the west end, well dirt ramp, yes next year you will be able to reserve a spot or first come, talked to a dnr guy he said they where way behind, nothing was marked yet just graveled camp spots, he said there will be a fire ring and table at each spot, supposed to be 40 spots when it is done,

eyes are mostly 12 to 15 inch, I wish i would have taken my fly box, a olive serendipity of small midge pattern off a drop shot,
