First Trip to Bear Lake
#1
Hey guys, I'm headed to Bear Lake camping this weekend and plan to drag the boat along for the first time ever. Just wanted to check in to see if anyone would be willing to offer up a few tips to hopefully make the trip worthwhile.

How does the standard dodger/squid/downrigger combo fare? Any luck trolling cranks? I've got all the standard trout trolling gear, but don't have much for jigging up big macks and cutts. I'll probably just pick up some 1/2 oz jigs/tubes and try to make my bass rods work.

I'll be launching out of the state park right there in Garden City and have the range to travel the lake (weather permitting). I'm definitely tracking the weather and will take all necessary precautions there.

Thanks in advance, fellas!

I fished it last week and boated 7 most caught in 45-60 feet of water . cranks will work most of our were on gold spoons or jakes spin a lures off downriggers 10' off the bottom. you can do good just out from the marina or head south to the rock pile . watch the wind that lake will kill you if you don't respect it..
