Thought I'd try an 'All-Nighter' on the Bear River last Friday. First I tried a spot in the refuge before the gate closed. Caught a few smaller ones in the calm water, then tried it in the current. Within a minute or so, I hooked a heavy 27 incher. Which took some time to land. While I was baiting that pole, I looked over and saw my other pole teetering on the guardrail. I grabbed the pole, hooked the fish, which was another heavy fish that measured 31 inches! This trip I remembered my net, but forgot my camera. Tried taking a picture with my good ole flip phone, heard the click, and saw the picture, but can't pull it up on the phone. Sorry, no pictures this time. Didn't think that fishing was going to get any better than that, so I called it a night and went home early. All was caught on chub.

] Wife and I were on the river Sunday in the boat. Water level from about the hunt club to the 3 bridges at the bottom has stayed up, maybe even a bit more than this time last month. Water temp has dropped a couple degrees also. Was 73 at about 9:30 a.m. and only up to 74.5 by 12:30 when we quit. We never had much more than bait stealing nibbles. But nice to know the bigger cats are coming up more active again.
