Two of us hit HN today in our tubes. We launched at the State Park boat ramp around 9:00 and covered a good portion of the reservoir until we found some fish.
We used both medium and fast sinking lines with size 6 & 8 bead head soft hackles and leech patterns in copper/black, olive, brown, and tan. We picked up all rainbows from 13" to 20" long with most of the fish in the 14"-15" range.
The water temperature was 43-48 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 6'. The reservoir is 86% full and rising.
Almost all of the fish came from water 7' - 15' deep while stripping the fly in. We were the only anglers until about the time we left another guy showed up to fish off the bank.
Beautiful day with temperatures from 30's to 50's and no wind. It is hard to believe it's the 18th of November.
