SNOWY CUTTS IN MAY
#1
Got back up the mountain this weekend, despite the forecast for rain/snow possible most of the day...gotta go when you can go! Got to the lake around 7am and it was nice, 40s and now wind. Started off in my usual spot hoping to find cutts trying to get up stream and do their thing, and they were definitely there! Fun to watch them chasing each other around, some tanks! Fishing was pretty consistent for the first couple hours, even had a solid 22-24" Tiger that popped free at the net, so no picture. 90% cutts as expected. Then a large storm started to push in and ran pretty much everyone off the lake, but not this crazy guy! I hunkered down and boy am I glad I did! The fish went NUTS leading into the storm, hitting as soon as my flies hit the water...and all spawning class cutts and bows! Then the snow started flying and they continued going nuts...thunder roaring with the snow flying while catching fish non-stop was quite the experience! I ended up losing count by the time I had had enough of the cold around 1pm. Couldn't take any pictures during the rain/sleet/snow, but got a few before it hit. One of those days I won't forget anytime soon.

Thanks...funny how some of the best fishing days are the worst weather days, that barometric pressure change can REALLY get them going! Just takes someone a little mentally unstable to stick it out, LOL...Fun times!

Wow, that first cutt has some color. Even thought the conditions were not ideal, the fish did not seem to mind. Way to stick with it.
