Rockport weekend double-dip
#1
Fished solo off the dock Sat morn from 7-10:30.  Got 3 nice smallies on a jerkbait early, then brought home a couple of dinners of 9" perch.
Today my buddy & I fished 6-11am from his boat, enjoying a brown bass day that's gonna be tough to top the remainder of the season, yanking over a dozen that ranged from 14-16".  Threw drop-shots, jerkbaits, & Neds, but the 4" Yamamoto single-tail grubs were the ticket.  Some nice 10" perch also hit those grubs.  Just a healthy ripple from the wind provided us an effortless drift southward.  Water temp 65 when we left.

Nice work on getting some quality smallies. Probably will be starting to get after them in a week or two.

And the perch dinners are a nice bonus. Smile

I fished with my daughter and son in law at the docks yesterday from 3-6 pm, and we caught the heck out of perch.  A few 10 inches, but mostly 8-9".  Caught several dinky smallmouth as well.  None of them were bigger than 8".

Ended up with 3.5 pounds of perch fillets.  Didn't realize that we kept that many till after we were done.  Yummy eating for sure!

Catching a dozen smallies in that 14-16” range would make for a fantastic day. Well done!
