DC evening trip 6/14/25
#1
Took 7yr and 5yr old grandsons up to DC last night.
I let them swim from 6-7pm and then fished from 7pm till 9pm.
Rainbow action was hot with surprise Walleyes hitting gear trolled for Bows out in middle and not anywhere near bottom.
Netted 9 or ten Bows, netted 4 Walleyes, had a couple long distance releases, and missed 6 or 7 real strong hits.
Bows are very healthy and fight hard, Walleyes are very hungry and not near as thick as Willard Eyes.
All fish caught on tiny Kokanee Creek Tackle spoon sweetened with itsy-bitsy piece of crawler, homemade chartreuse crawler harness, homemade silver crawler harness, and KCT dodger/pink squid.
Water temp 70.
Wake/surfboat hatch in full swing.

Great report! It’s great fishing with kids. Kudos on catching walleyes.

Nice going Shane, sounds like you did good for an evening trip to DC, especially on the eyes. I heard KCT was sold a few years past, is that true?

Had a student headed there this weekend with his mind on walleye. I shared a few suggestions but told him I had not heard a very recent report on DC eyes. I will have to check in with him. Your report gives me some hope that he may have found a few
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

Yes, that is correct.
Chris and Jenny Fox bought KCT.
Same product is still being made and same exact Kokanee pole.
Chris and Jenny are awesome people that know how to fish, and fish Strawberry a LOT.
Chris and Jenny are locals here in Salt Lake and just live down the road from me.
Please let me know if you need anything and I will help you connect with them.
It was a big bonus to all us fisherfolk's that such a good local company was purchased by locals.
