Got on Newton with a couple of the kids.
I'm a fly guy. Tried a bunch of clousers and other streamers. Nada.
Poppers and frogs were the ticket.

Got a few like this and lost a couple nice ones in the weeds. Couldn't horse them out with the 6 wt.

I really love Newton, but have not made it up this year. I bet a musky on the fly rod would be exciting

Nice to read a report about Newton, we don't get many from that lake. Did you try for any crappie or were you there just for the bass?

I used to want to catch one real bad. Had what looked like a 50 incher circle the boat down at Schofield last year. Now I'm reconsidering. I don't think I'm equipped to handle a big mad musky.

We were after bass. I did see a cache valley fakebook post where they were catching crappie off the dam the other day.
