Mantua Bass
#1
I think I'm going to head to Mantua Friday morning. What do all of you use for bass up there? I usually troll small rapalas or spoons for trout with fair success and sometimes I get a couple bass on those. Are there any large mouth in there, or just small mouth. Thanks.

We caught several small largemouth last year just using spinners off the west dike.

It's all largemouth in that lake. At this time of year with the cold water I'd try spinnerbait cranked deep (5-12 ft) and slow or deep diving crankbaits. If you can see bass up shallow sunning themselves then I would go with Rapala minnows, 2-3" tube jigs, jerk bait (sluggo, senko etc) or wooly buggers on a floating fly line.

I caught a bunch of small largemouths of the north dike last fall. I was using a 2 inch curly tail jig.
