Boy you have really hit on that one. Here I am stuck in the
mountains of
Southern Ohio and would I love to be on the pier at Port Aransas. The
last time I was there, I saw a large hammer head shark in the water and
no one was able to hook it. What would you recommend as bait for this
large ocean fish? Windy

Windy,
First I would like to welcome you to the Great and Growing BFT board.
To answer your question about the hammerhead near the pier in Port A. It has been my long time belief that they have already eaten and are just resting in the shallower waters. But if you get that chance again I would recomend using fresh cut bait that has just come from the fish cleaning table. make shure you are ready for the fight of your life if you manage to hook up with one of thiese big hammerheads. I hooked into one about ten or twelve years ago and it was great with the exception of taking 6 hours to bring it in. That was only 137lb. and I have seen larger near the piers.

We now have conformation from a nonresident that Paradise is truly in the Lone Star State.[Smile]

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher <*(())))))))))>{
http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/ROSS6959/
