Strawberry ice conditions?

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I just called the marina and she said that it rained last night and there is 8 to 10 inches of slush on about 18 inches of ice. She said the edges hadn't been a problem thus far, but the slush was the problem, because it wasn't getting cold enough to freeze at night.
