Hey one and all, I'm going to go to Deer Creek on the 9th with a friend and would like to knock em out of the water, Just a few questions, does anyone know the water temps, or what they might be in a few days. and what are the fish biting on. We've fished trout there before but I would like to start to try for perch or small mouth, are they in there and what do they eat. Any help would be great thank you

yeah there in there, along with walleye and the occasional green eared sunfish, they bite on the traditional bass lures, and worms. cant realy tell you what theyll be doing in a week, but can say, that bottom bouncing a worm can get you waleye, and trout, and bass. you just have to find the right speed.

Thanks fishboy2, that helps, when we fish for wallie do we need the steel leader or can we use the heavy regular line, and what side of the lake do you think the fishing would be moast productive. I know that the west side is kind of sandy and rockey. and the north side has a bunch of cover for the fish, is it to cold for the fish to want cover still or what do you think
thank again

i saw a lot of boats out in the middle yesterday, but i do know that the north side around the island usually produces fish. i dont think that you need to use a wire leader for walleye, but im not a walleye expert at all.

For walleyes, you do not need a steel leader. You will do just fine with 6- up to 10 pound Trilene low memory line.

The water has been in the mid 40's by afternoon, the walleye will be just about ready to spawn by the 9th. try drifting a lindy rig and worm. the perch should still be a little deeper. later chuck
