Fished the Sevier River through Marysvale Canyone on Saturday. It was a great day of fishing. We caught numerous browns using a wooly bugger followed by a nymph. They were taking both flies, and were very aggressive. All fish were between 8" and 16". We did catch one rainbow. There should be good fishing through the canyon until they start releasing water from Piute again, which could be very soon with irrigation season starting up...

Hey, PBH,
What were you driving? We came through there Saturday afternoon from scouting turkeys on the Paunsagunt. Sounds like the fishing has picked up some

We were in a white ford extended cab pickup with a shell. There were two other guys fishing the same section of river, they were in a ford pickup also...
We have always done pretty good in the Canyon as long as the flows are down. We have never caught anything big, but it is a pretty fun place to go catch some medium sized browns...

Thanks for the report PBH, were you just fly fishing or did you try any spinners?

Nice report! I gotta like your choice in vihicles. All we drive are fords. My family has fished that section of creek for about 3 years now. We've caught MANY browns well over 20". They might not be into taking flys, though. We've mainly gotten the largest browns dead sticking a whole sucker minnow in the deeper water, or slow rolling big panther martins or blue fox's. By the way, was the water clear or stained?

It's a nice place to go and get away from the crowds. Especially this time of year while the water isn't too high. Think we did see your truck.
