may be headed to deer creek thurs need some advice
#1
Hey I will probably head out to deer creek on thurs. with my uncle, but have never really fished there much and I am wondering what lures would be hot right now or what fishing techniques I should use. I will probably fish for walleye and trout. Maybe bass if they are biting. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

have not fished there this year have done well trolling rainbow or brown trout rapalas in the past. Have had smallies hit chartreuse colored rapalas and spoons in the shallows but that is ussualy after the temps warm up.

And have always managed to land a few trout with a worm marshmellow combo.

Hope this helps and good luck will be jealous while stuck at work.

If you are fishing from a boat you can troll popgear and a worm it always worked for me there and sometimes the bigger perch would bite the worm.I usually followed the underwater river channel and it was non stop at times.I always fished it between now and middle may for the trout and did really good.As for walleyes i fished for them by charleston between 10-25 fett when there used to be water on that side .I would cast out pumpkin colored jigs and tubes and i even caught smallies with them.Hope this helps you out.

Hey Jed, head straight across from the island resort boat ramp. troll deep diving rapala's to 18 feet and work shallower. the walleye are just about ready to spawn. try drifting a lindy rig also. the walleye that are going to spawn up the river should be around that area. then the lake spawners should be around loose gravel. hope this helps, later chuck
