Cold Streak
#1
Boy oh boy am I on a bad roll. I moved to SLC about three weeks ago and I haven't caught a fish since then. I've taken the pontoon boat to pineview the last two sundays and fished hard without a bite. I've fished the jordan river twice; nothing but a few nibbles. Fished bountiful lake; Nada. Finally I fished the west end of jordanelle for about two hours where the old highway comes out of the lake; lost ten gamagatsu jig heads and no fish. I've thrown everything in the tackle box, I've even resorted to bait fishing and still nothing. I need some help! Somebody please point me in the right direction.

Don't feel bad I was on the same ship, but that all changed today. Hopefully it will change for you reel soon as well.

Pineview has been poor so far this spring. At Jordalelle try the inlet called the rock cliffs at the east end of the reservoir. Some fair reports are coming from Rockport. Many of the rivers and streams are low and fishing good right now. Just give it time and watch the posts here for more information. Your streak will end as you learn more about the waters in this area. Don't give up warmer weather will bring on better fishing.

Try hitting Deer Creek just a few miles (8 or 10) south of Jordanelle. It has trout, walleye, sm bass, perch, and carp that I know of. It has been good to fair, the walleye spawn should be going soon and you can poke some eyes'. It is one of my favorite places to fish..for the quality of fish and the diversity of species you have a chance at and you can always pick up a few trout with a worm if need be.
