FISHING: Good

The water has warmed appreciably and the tarpon have moved in well. Bonefishing, which has been a bit "off" for several weeks (months?) seems to be back in full swing. The redfish and snook of Florida Bay, are always a welcome change of pace. For most anglers are targeting the "glamour" species and these are mostly left alone.

Recent memorable catches include, John and Eleanor Craig with three bonefish, two over 10 pounds and one nearly 14. Jason Dubow, with a snook and 4 redfish. Bob Ripley with 4 redfish. Adam and Stephanie Rothbotham managed to get a 12-13 foot sawfish to the boat. We tried to get a few pictures but when it decided to try and make a spaghetti colander out of my hull with it's 4.5 foot "saw" picture taking opportunities became quite limited. During the IGFA Rolex tournament, Mark Travis with three of four (Mr. barracuda caught number 4) bonefish all around 8 pounds. Pat Dorsey and I caught 4 of the 5 species necessary for a Rolex tournament slam, a bonefish, tarpon, redfish and snook.
