Bear lake/ Willard Report
#1
I went to Bear Lake sunday with the family and some friends. We got there about 6:30, water was smooth as glass. We marked alot of schooled fish in about 10-25 feet but couldn't find the lure. My son caught his first fish by himself. It was a cutt about 20" and 3 pounds. We caught 1 more little one before the wind kicked up. We were off the water by 10:30. Dang that place can get ugly fast!!!! We beached 3 boats trying to load them and watched 1 other boat have a heck of a time with the waves. We were over by the South Eden area. I talked to a guy from Idaho and he said they did good all weekend but Sunday was really slow. They had only caught 5 in 3 hours.

On the way home we decided to hit willard bay. Ran into some other BFT'rs (sorry I can't remember their names). We fished the south west corner and caught 7 wipers between 4 of us in my boat. My other friends caught 10+ just before dark. We were all using prism shads, rattle rapalas, and white plastic minnows. My wife's cousin got his first ever fish which was a big fat wiper. I think he'll be a fisherman for ever now. Thats the only thing he talked about for hours. I'll post pictures when I figure out how to use the camera.

We were at Willard Sunday afternoon in the same area, what kind of boat were you in? We were in an older 16ft Starcraft, trolling with 4 poles. WH2

I have a 14' Valco aluminum. I had my wife and two kids in there and we were trying to fish 4 lines also. I had my red budweiser hat on. My friends were there also, in a 14' aluminum, just two of them. We fished from about 2:30 til 5:00 or so. Those other guys did real well right before dark.
