I was out at Bountiful Pond this afternoon/evening (12 June) to look at the ducks. By the way, for anyone interested, the duck marsh is closed until August 1 so that the birds can make more birds. So instead, I took a walk around the pond. I saw several channel cats being caught ranging from 14-18 inches. It looked like worms were the bait of choice. I saw one guy catch a bass using a jig. There were tons of people fishing the pond. I am amazed at how popular the place has become. I also noticed that there are tables and bbq stands set up along the path. Unfortunately, it will be years before the trees grow tall enough to provide shade for the visitors.
