snow pack?
#1
Went for a drive to Hanna and fished the Duchense. Caught 13 browns on Rapalas in about 3.5 hrs. On the way home decided to go for drive and look for deer. So I head up wolf creek pass and take the Duschene Ridge road. I could'nt make it all the way around to Mill Hollow Resevoir because of snow. Lots of snow in the shady parts of the hills. A snow drift a good 5 foot thick stopped my travel farther up the mountain. And here I thought we were in a major drought and all the snow pack had been gone for months?

It's the usable snowpack the weather people are alwasy squaking about. Unfortunately the remainind drifts, and "shadow snow", doesn't have an impact on our water supply. It generally melts so slowly that it just soaks into the ground, and doesn't ever make it into any major rivers.
