Lake Toho and The Kissimmee Chain
#1
Fishing Report
Lake Toho
by: Captain Chuck Matthews
http://www.orlandobassfishing.com
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com
April 22, 2001
800-936-7398

Considering the weather this last week, fishing has been good. Goblet’s Cove has
good water that has not been effected by the dropping of pellets to kill off hydrilla.
Gold rattle traps are producing fish at Goblet’s Cove. There are also fish schooling
on shad there. Wilson Cove is also producing fish in the reeds on worms. The fish
have moved into the green grass out of Whayles. Granada Landing is providing
some nice fish on shiners. Also the South side of Brown’s Point with spinner baits is
bringing in nice fish. Throw into the grass and let it fall as you hit the outside edge
of the grass. The key on Toho right now is stay out of the green looking water.
This is being caused by the hydrilla dying from the pellets. You need to find
unaffected green hydrilla. The fish will be there.

Also for the bream fisherman there is a mayfly hatch going on. The channels by the
houses north of Red’s fish camp is loaded with them. A slow presentation with top
water baits on the inside of North Steer Beach will get you a limit of keeper fish. Go
towards the pink house and work your way inside the cove. Work the sparse grass.
When working your bait, let it sit, work it slow. Also if you are throwing rattle traps
in open water, work it right over the top of the hydrilla on a steady retrieve. Fishing
is going to get even better over the next couple of weeks. The cold fronts should be
over and the weather will stabilize. This will turn the fish on even better than they
are doing right now. And I know that they will be feeding like wild.

See ya next week and be safe.

Happy Fishing,

Captain Chuck Matthews
Professional Bass Guide
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com
http://www.orlandobassfishing.com
800-936-7398

Captain Chuck Matthews
