Largemouth bass fishing has really entered the dog days of summer. Most bass anglers would agree the best time to get out is the early morning hours or late evening. Fishermen on the Sassafras River continue to experience good fishing around the Georgetown area of the river. Many of the river docks and fallen trees are holding fish. Small presentations of crankbaits, jigs and soft plastic worms have been working very well. The Choptank River above Denton still seems to be the focus of the best largemouth action on the river. Sunken wood, docks and creek mouth are all excellent places to fish. The Wicomico and Pocomoke Rivers are both offering good fishing around sunken wood, old docks and creek mouths. Weed beds have also been producing, especially in deeper waters. Fishing for channel catfish continues to excellent in all rivers and fishermen are enjoying good fishing as the sun sets on typically hot days.
