Hey that looks pretty handy! Just a thought though, why not reverse the control head so all forward speeds (pulls) you forward while the handle remains pointing towards you? It would work then just like a bow mounted troller. Its easily done if you'd like to try it by simply removing the small bolt and nut just under the control head, turning the control head 180 degrees and installing the bolt and nut again. I bet it would work like a charm.

Btw, nice Smallie too! Did ya launch a Rock Cliffs? I heard they took it away from us now.

I thought about that, but if I run it forward it is a lot harder to troll and fish at the same time, because in a pontoon you are facing back all the time.

yea it was at rockcliffs. That sucks that they did that.

I have a mount on my toon if you'd like to look at it. it looks very easy to make one with some conduit pipe and a couple bolts. the only think I dont like about it is that I need to get a swivel for my seat. I get tired of reaching behind me to hold that motor and keep me in a straight line.

Not too shabby there Jed. How do you like fishing from the toon?

that is exactly why I mounted mine in the front. It is extremely easy to maneuver into tight places and most of the time when I am facing backwards while moving forward I am trolling and I would rather be facing back anyways.

I absolutely love my toon now that I have that trolling motor on it. It makes fishing so much easier. I don't get blown around nearly as much and I can troll a little and cover more water a lot better,

Jed,

Congrats on your new fish-catching machine. Just make sure you get your toon licensed so you don't get in trouble with the fish cops. Utah law requires that any motorized watercraft must be registered and be given a hull number. I had to register my 10' rubber inflatable because I put a little outboard on it. Just to give you a heads up.
