CANYON LAKE
#1
All species are moving into a typical late spring/summertime pattern. LARGEMOUTH are still very cooperative but for optimum results you need to be fishing before or at least by daylight. In the main lake, check out the major creeks, especially those with a sloping bankline with chunkrock. Try a 1/8 oz. white/chartreuse Terminator buzzbait, Pop R/Berkley
popper and plastic jerkbaits with attention to laydowns or submerged trees. As the sun gets up, move deeper to 8'-12' breaklines using 1/8 or 1/4 oz. silver/blue Terminators, Devil's Tongues and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads. By mid morning switch to
Ice Tea or watermelon Scoundrel worms or 3" Super Tubes fished along shaded bluff ledges. STRIPERS have taken up residence over and around humps in 40'-50'. Drifting live perch or vertically jigging Horizon Pirk Minnows or Curb's striper jigs and white bucktails with trailers are taking fish up to 28".
BOOK YOUR GUIDED FISHING TRIP WITH THE OLDEST, MOST
EXPERIENCED/RECOMMENDED GUIDES ON CANYON LAKE:
JR'S GUIDE SERVICE www.jrguideserivce.com.
