Lake Buchanan Guide Report
#1
LAKE BUCHANAN: Water murky upper-clear lower; 84 degrees; 1019':

Largemouth are fair to good 3'- 10' deep in clearest water in the creeks from Beaver to Black Rock using 3/8 oz. white/chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) w/Oklahoma blades, green
Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com) and watermelon/red Snap Back jerkbaits along flooded bushes breaklines. During periods of bright sun, try working ledges and brushpiles close to deeper water ditches, creeks and bluffs with whacky style Chameleon Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) rigged on 2/0 or 3/0 "K" Whacky Hooks
(www.falconlures.com) and Texas rigged watermelon/red Snap Back creature baits and weightless plastic stickbaits such as Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com). You're probably using more soft plastics this time of year and going through bags of them each trip. To make them last and hold better,we use Pro's Soft Bait Glue(www.prosoftbaitglue.com)
at the hook eye to hold them in place. Also, to make repairs when they tear up. Much better than Super Glue.

Striped Bass are fair in 28'-35' trolling white/chartreuse Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com), jigging Pirk Minnows or tight-lining live bait over humps.
