We fished two of the local wrecks yesterday and caught limits of sculpin with no problem. The tentacles from those giant squid that recently invaded our coast really tantalizes the spinty critters. We saved all the large squid heads for this reason. Cut one tentacle and string it onto a leadhead and drop it any where near a sculpin and the wiggly bait will attract any sculpin or sandbass or calico in the vicinity.
