Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
The wind has been from the East the past four days and the fishing has slowed a lot. The chop on the water has kept the minnows down deeper and the whitebass are scattered. The whitebass seem to have started moving out on the flats farther. They chase the minnows farther as the lakes fall towards the winter pool. Largemouth have been fair to good on the drop offs. Carolina rigged worms and deep running crankbaits are the better baits still. Sauger are scattered. Bluegill are good on wax worms and crickets in about six feet of water where they can find shade. Catfishing in the lakes is only fair to good but is really good below the dams, especially Kentucky Dam.

TIP: Remember the lakes drop five feet between summer pool and winter pool. They have drop about one foot already.

BITS AND PIECES: Don't brag, it's not the whistle that pulls the train.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
