Tuna Hunter has been extremely busy through July and early August - large, 20-35 pound striped bass are in our area. Charters have been hammering these guys, though the bite is different day to day. The larger stripers are known for hanging around "the Groaner", and in deeper water off the north side of Cape Ann. Fish can be raised by trolling, but more often by drifting and chumming. One lucky charter saw non-stop action all day long. Another party was there to reel in a 46 pounder - current leader in the Gloucester pool.

Bluefin tuna are in - while the Abtrex charter lost one 30 yds from the boat on a rough day on the water - line chafted off in the hatch - two days later the Tuna Hunter crew landed a 506 pound giant. Two days after that, a very happy crew and charter landed TWO giants, 450 # and 520 #. These fish were mean and lean, fighting with all they had forcing the crew to earn their fish.

School and medium-size bluefin have moved in around Stellwagon Bank - making for a great fight for those iwshing to fight bluefin standup, or when opportunity provides, on flyrod. On the other side of Cape Ann, larger stripers have been interfering with the giant fishing, keeping charter busy on light tackle while waiting for a hungry giant to bite on the big rods.

Tuna Hunter is out there every day - stripers, bluefish, cod and haddock, sharks, and giant bluefin. We'll add more reports when we are on land - for the lastest fish reports call 978-407-1351. Good fishing to you, Capt. Gary
