Fishing in the Bering Sea
#1
Hi out there! I was curious if anyone might know of a website that provides daily updates on what's happening with the king crab fishermen in Bristol Bay area. Something that shows the catch or news or weather updates maybe. Thanks!!

Hey there kristafish. Welcome to the Bigfishtackle message boards. I have also been lookin for more reliable reports for the the State of Alaska. For some reson, there are no more reports from the Bristol Bay area since August 31.

I find most of my information on the ADFG website. It is hard to discern the truth in the state websites sometimes. I will continue to search and I will let you know just as soon as I find something.[cool]

Hey there kristafish,

Welcome to the BFT family. Hope you'll hang around a while. Lots of really good general info here usable anywheres!

Alaska king crabs huh?! That's interesting and I'll check out the subject too. In Japan, snow crabs are also very popular.

TubeN2...Thank you so much! That site is exactly what I was looking for. I have a friend fishing right now and the last I talked to him they were getting slammed by the weather so I just want to update myself! Thanks again.

You are most welcome. If at anytime you need information, please don't hesitate to ask. We are all here to help each other.

If I personally don't have the information at hand, it won't take long before some of the other generous members chime in with their wealth of knowledge.

Happy Fishing[cool]

Thanks again TubeN. This is a great site.

As for fishing in the Bering Sea? Ha...I'm not sure, I'm sure one of the experts on here would know. But right now I now is the prime season for Alasking red king crab. It is when their meat is the firmest. Smile
