Bear Lake fishing on Oct. the 20th.
#1
Spent the morning fishing in the rain till 2:00 in the afternoon. Caught 13 macks. 1 20 inche pup and 12 from 24 to 34 inches. It wasn't till 11:00 that we found the fish and then it was great as long as we stayed where we found the fish and kept going through them. Boy it rained a lot and it was cold but we were in a nice Sea Dorry with heat. But you still had to get ou to catch the fish and to deploy again. That would take 15 to 20 minutes. Great day on the lake. We ended up the only boat on the lake. Our boat was made for the ocean. It's no GIRLY BOAT.

Great report. Is that your c-dory parked in the Marina slip ? Did you take any pictures of fish or your boat. I'd like to add a picture of your boat to my digital album. Thanks (fishonlynch@comcast.net).........

Sounds like you have found a good spot, were you trolling? Do you mind sharing what you were using? Great report, I think the best is yet to come, I hope to see you up there. WH2

no, it's my friends and he parks it in a storage unit in Heber. We don't make to the Bear but a couple of times a year. We purposely planned this trip to get in on the spawn. We didn't plan the weather. We mostly fish for the macks at the Gorge. I did take some pictures of the fish with my digital but I have no Idea how to post them. Maybe some day.

Yes, we were trolling. On the rock pile. We were using Rapalas. The fishing was really fast with a fish on most times we trolled through them. But by the time you catch the fish and redeploy it takes 20 to 25 minutes. Good luck. I'd like to make it up there again, but with the price of fuel to get from Salt Lake to the Bear and back, it kills the wallet. But maybe. We fish almost every week, my friend and I.
